MIA SYMBOLISM

MIA LOGO DRAFT 16 Rounded Edges Embro Pa

The purpose of this symbol is to bring an even greater awareness to this grave problem of homelessness of our Veterans.

The black figure denotes the countless faceless Homeless Veterans on the streets of America.

The shadow is a reflection of the Homeless Veteran's military service to our great country, and the left hand salute signifies continued pride and respect for the flag; but shows the Veteran's dissatisfaction in how the country has forgotten him.

The underlined MIA is an acronym for "Missing In America" and is meant to signify those Homeless Veterans missing here in America; meaning that

no one see them.

ORIGIN OF MIA

While both, Jimmy & Paul, were out in the streets of Chicago on a Sunday afternoon "Sandwich Run", feeding Homeless Veterans; Jimmy and Paul were chatting about the issues relating to POW/MIAs.

Jimmy was looking around at all the Homeless Veterans and began thinking about how they are being missed here at home, when he said aloud: These Veterans are MIAs – ‘Missing In America’.
